About Us!

The Anglia School of Hypnotherapy and NLP was set up in the year 2000 by Susan Arrowsmith and her colleague Michelle Albarn.  Susan had already established herself as one of the leading hypnotherapists and NLP practitioners in Norfolk.  Having worked with her clients for almost 20 years.  She trained orginally with The National College of Hypnotherapy and Psychotherapy based in London.

Susan has three university degrees one an M.A. in medical sociology for which she researched the uses of medical hypnotherapy to treat a wide range of medical conditions.  She also has qualifications in regression therapy, psychotherapy, weight loss therapy. and advanced uses of NLP.  Susan is also a registered general nurse. 

Susan is currently writing a book based on her 'Case Histories of a Hypnotherapist'.

Susan worked closely with The General Hypnotherapy Standards Council to establish the Anglia School of Hypnotherapy and NLP.  The aim has always been to teach our students all the hypnotherapy/psychotherapy and NLP they need to treat a wide range of clients. 

The Anglia School of Hypnotherapy and NLP courses were written and are taught by Susan. She knows exactly the sort of skills you will need to run your practice.  She uses them every day herself.  When you have finished your course you will have a huge range of skills --hypnotherapy-psychotherapy and NLP.

Sometimes would be students ask us why we do not teach hypnotherapy and NLP separately.  The reason is simple; both therapies have their merits but when used in combination with each other provide a wonderfully powerful therapy programme.  NLP and hypnotherapy balance each other perfectly giving you a much wider scope of treatments to offer your clients.

We also teach our students c.b.t. and psychotherapy - both talking therapies - to enable them to work with their clients to resolve past traumas that are still undermining them in some way in the present.

As you work your way through the course you will find that you also learn a great deal about yourself - this is a journey of discovery.

The school was accredited by The General Hypnotherapy Standards Council - the governing body for our profession.  Being a GHR registered therapist will open doors to you such as working within the NHS, BUPA and may other fields - it also means that your qualification is internationally recognised.  In fact we have many of our graduate students working overseas as far afield as Canada, USA, and South Africa.   

We also know that when you have completed your training course that you will need us to help you set up your own practice.  This is where many larger organisations fail their graduate students.  We regard all our ASH graduates as part of the ASH family.  You will have access to the unique ASH graduate e-mail advice service free of change.  Plus one to one supervision  at a reduced rate should you require it.
